AAD 2008 International Airshow Ysterplaat Air Force Base Cape Town

Spring brings AAD 2008 Air Show and Expo to Cape Town.


The AAD 2008 public air show will be held from 20-21 September 2008 at Air Force Base Ysterplaat just outside Cape Town.

AAD 2008 is the largest exhibition of air, sea and land capability on the African continent. The expo showcases the leading edge in commercial; general aviation and defence technology and products.

The expo offers exclusive trade days for exhibitors in the industry to interact with their potential customer base.

And closes off with 2 public days allowing the public a chance to see the technology and enjoy an air show of note.

Adults R50;
Children under 12 & Pensioners R40 Pre-Paid tickets available from NSRI and Cape Town Tourism offices. Gates open at 06:00am entrance from Koeberg Road and Ratanga Junction

General AAD 2008 rules for the public:

  • No firearms will be allowed
  • No pets will be allowed
  • No open fires will be allowed (e.g. Braais)
  • Members of the public are requested to remain within the demarcated public viewing areas
  • Please bring own chairs, sun umbrellas and sunscreen protection
  • Refreshments such as cold drinks and fast food items will be available
  • Pre-paid ticket holders will have easier access to the public parking areas
    (discounted pre-paid tickets are available from NSRI and Cape Tourism offices)
  • Come early and enjoy a full day of wonderful entertainment.
